The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has introduced the International FAO Antimicrobial Resistance Monitoring System (InFARM), aimed at enhancing global surveillance of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in animals and food. This comprehensive initiative includes an IT platform and supports national surveillance systems to generate reliable AMR data. FAO calls upon member countries to participate in the inaugural InFARM annual open call for data in 2024. Training sessions, starting in Colombia next week, will equip national focal points with essential skills to manage and utilize AMR data effectively.
