Public consultation on options to limit marketing of unhealthy foods to children
Australia
Feb 13, 2024
The Australian Government is investing in a feasibility study on options to limit unhealthy food marketing to children and is seeking public views to obtain a better understanding of the impacts of Government action.
The purpose of the public consultation is to finalise the draft policy options and to gather additional information that will inform cost-benefit analyses of selected priority policy options. At the end of the process, policy recommendations will be made to the Australian Government. Specifically, the consultation will:
- gather additional evidence to inform the draft policy options;
- gather inputs on the costs and benefits of the policy options;
- gather evidence on stakeholder support for (acceptability of) the policy options;
- identify key barriers and enablers (feasibility) to policy implementation; and
- inform monitoring and evaluation approaches for the proposed policy options.
