DGAI takes over food safety management

The French General Directorate for Competition, Consumers protection and Fraud control (DGCCRF) has announced that from January 1, 2024, the General Directorate for Nutrition (DGAI) inside the Ministry of Agriculture, will take care of regulating food safety in France. From now on, all questions relating to food safety and in particular the management of health crises or contaminations causing poisoning, TIAC (collective food poisoning), diseases, mortality, will fall under the management of the DGAI.
