New Draft Standard on Organic food production

The Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) has published the draft standards "DEAS 456: 2023, Organic production – Requirements, Third Edition". The Draft East African Standard provides requirements for organic production. It covers plant production, animal husbandry, aquaculture, sustainable fisheries, bee-keeping, the harvesting of wild products, and the processing and labeling of the products therefrom. It does not cover procedures for verification such as products' inspection or certification.
