NETHERLANDS - HANDBOOK ON FOODS FOR INFANTS, PATIENTS AND OVERWEIGHT PEOPLE
Netherlands
May 02, 2020
The Dutch Food and Commodities Authority (NVWA) has made a handbook available for producers and sellers of foods for specific groups. The latter category covers infant and young child formula, food for special medical purposes and total diet replacement for weight control as defined in the European Regulation 609/2013. The guidance, only available in Dutch, compiles all the relevant EU implementing regulations as well as other EU and national relevant regulations which apply to these food categories. The guidance also touches upon the functioning of the Dutch Food and Commodities Authority, clarifying the policy on product controls and clearly indicating that the authority is not available for questions on rules and requirements from food business operators.
