FSANZ studies incorporating the definition of added sugars

Australian and New Zealand food ministers have asked Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) to consider amending the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code to clarify and define added sugars for the purposes of making claims on food products.
Ministers want to ensure voluntary added sugar claims align with dietary guidelines and have asked FSANZ to prioritise this work. FSANZ has prepared Proposal P1062 – Defining added sugars for claims to consider and assess changes to the Code.
