GMO ban extended for two more years

The Committee on Science, Education and Culture under the Swiss Senate acted on a motion from the House of Representatives and decided to extend Switzerland's GMO ban for two years.

The Federal Law on the Application of Genetic Engineering (Genetic Engineering Law, LGG) is amended as follows:

Art. 37a, para. 1

No authorization may be issued, until December 31, 2027, for the release into circulation, for agricultural, horticultural or forestry purposes, of genetically modified plants and parts of plants, seeds and other plant material for the multiplication of genetically modified, or genetically modified animals. genetically modified animals.
