New standard on food contact material

The Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) has published an standard DARS 1721:2024 , Recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate (rPET) Bottles for Food Contact - Specification, First Edition. This draft African Standard specifies requirements, sampling and test methods for Recycled PET bottles, and recyclates (flakes and pellets) used for food contact applications.
It does not apply to industrial rejected PET bottles and does not apply to production of resins for non - food grade consumer applications.
