Genetically Modified Foodstuffs

The Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office (FSVO) published changes to Annex 3 of the Ordinance on Genetically Modified Foodstuffs (GMFO). The modification concerns annex 3 of the GMFO. This annex contains a list of GMO products that may be put on the Swiss market without a specific authorisation by the Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office. There will be 20 new entries into that list:
1,4 alpha-D-glucane glucanohydrolase (EC 3.2.1.1), 1,4 alpha-D-glucane glucanohydrolase (EC 3.2.1.1), Asparaginase (EC 3.5.1.1), Three types of Bêtagalactosidase (EC 3.2.1.23), Carboxypeptidase D (EC 3.4.16.6), Chymonsine (EC 3.4.23.4), Endo-1,4 alpha-xynalase (EC 3.2.1.8), Glucane 1,4-alpha-glucosidase (EC 3.2.1.3), Four types of Glucane 1,4-alpha-maltohydrolase (EC 3.2.1.133), Glutaminase (EC 3.5.1.2), Leucyl-aminopeptidase (EC 3.4.11.1), Peroxidase (EC 1.11.1.7), Pullulanase (EC 3.2.1.41), Subtilisine (EC 3.4.21.62), Triacylglycérol lipase (EC 3.1.1.3).
