Aug 30, 2021
This draft Commission Regulation concerns the refusal of authorisation of one health claim made on foods and referring to the reduction of disease risk in accordance with Article 17(3) of Regulation (EC) No 1924/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 December 2006 on nutrition and health claims made on foods.
Claims: âSymbiosal®â has been shown to lower the rising of blood pressure when used as a replacement of traditional table salt. The rising of blood pressure is a risk factor for high blood pressure (hypertension).
The proposed measure is a Commission Regulation for one health claim as referred to above under point 6 that has been assessed by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) with an unfavourable outcome. Therefore, the health claim included in that Commission Regulation does not comply with the conditions set out in Regulation (EC) No 1924/2006, and will not be authorised for use on foods.
