ANVISA publishes second version of the guide on evaluation of probiotics used in food

ANVISA informs food product companies that the 2nd version of Guide 21 is now available for consultation, which deals with the instruction of procedures for the evaluation of probiotics for use in food. The objective of the Guide is to guide those interested in the information that should be included in the dossier for the evaluation of probiotics for use in food, the analysis of which includes three main elements: proof of the identity of the microorganism strain, safety and its beneficial effect to health.
