Ministry of Agriculture announces draft amendment on quality requirements for meat products

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry has published the draft Government Decision on the amendment of Government Decision No. 624/2020 on the approval of Quality Requirements for meat preparations and products.

The main changes being:

• Classification and definition of meat products: canned meat paste: made from first and second grade edible meat or offal, diced, blanched, and grated to a homogeneous paste; canned meat-containing spreads: mixed plant and meat products with a meat content of at least 10%; ripe raw meat products: new classifications, specifically: classification of raw materials, classification of processes, and classification of diameters.
• Labeling and labeling: when the meat of a certain animal accounts for more than half of the final product, the species of the animal is required to be indicated in the trade name and labeling, and relevant images may be attached.
