Amendment to the Liquor Law published

The Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries published notice R.5976, amending the Liquor Law. The amendment includes:
- Definitions were added for flavored alcoholic beverages, hop products, prepackaged items, and other fermented beverages.
- Product standards were introduced for alcoholic beverages, including a volatile acid content <1.2 g/l for other fermented beverages and an alcohol content >3.5% for mead.
- For wine products, if the sulfur dioxide concentration exceeds 10mg/l (measured as total sulfur dioxide), the label must state “contains sulfites”.
