Ministry of Health to amend food law

The Ministry of Health has announced that it is proposing amendments to the Food Act 1983 (Act 281) in public consultation from 9 December 2024 to 8 January 2025 under the Food Safety and Quality Program. This proposal strengthens food safety and quality controls throughout the food safety chain, aligns with the National Policy on Good Regulatory Practice (NPGRP) 2021, which requires all legislation to be reviewed every five years, etc.
