Modification of font size in alcoholic beverages labeling

The Ministry of the Interior and Public Security informs that the last paragraph of Article 12 of Decree No. 98/2023, Regulation on consumer information and advertising of alcoholic beverages, has been modified by Decree No. 186/2024 published on November 16, 2024.
Replace the final paragraph of Article 12 of the Regulation of Articles 40 bis and 40 ter of Law No. 19,925, approved by Supreme Decree No. 98, of 2023, of the Ministry of the Interior and Public Security, by the following:
“The minimum size of the letter to be used shall be 1.5 millimeters for containers smaller than 237 milliliters; 2 millimeters for containers of up to 1.5 liters; and 3 millimeters for containers of more than 1.5 liters. Likewise, a maximum of 10 characters per centimeter is established for letters of 1.5 millimeters; 8 characters per centimeter for letters of 2 millimeters and 5 characters per centimeter for letters of 3 millimeters”.
