EEC proposed to unify rules for labeling beer and beer-based beverages

The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission considered the proposed initiative of the Russian Federation and decided to introduce the labeling of beer and beer-based beverages in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union according to unified rules.
According to the document, Member States will independently determine the date of introduction and the labeling procedure by identifying the specified products on their territory, notifying this to the EEC not later than six months in advance.
Taking into account that in several countries of the Union this group of products is classified as subject to excise duty, at the level of national legislation additional requirements may be established for the application of a material support containing anti-counterfeiting measures to the products and for the transmission of information on the total excise duty payment.
