Argentina amends Food Code to include plant-based beverages

On the 23rd of April, the Argentine National Food Institute revised the Argentinian Food Code's (CAA) beverage section, incorporating "Beverages Made from Plant-based Ingredients." It defines these as drinks made from edible parts of legumes, fruits, seeds, grains or their derivatives, with added water and optional substances. The resolution mandates labeling transparency, specifying the minimum percentage of distinctive ingredients and allowing additives within defined concentrations. It also permits the sale of powdered forms to prepare these beverages.
