Argentina restricts honey labeling claims

The Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries and Secretariat of Quality in Health publish Joint Resolution14/2023. This Resolution amends Article 783 tris on the use of honey labelling declarations in the Argentine Food Code. Sugar products, with the exception of confectionery products, which do not meet the regulatory specifications for honey and yatei honey may not display on the label descriptions or pictorial representations of bees -or similar insects-, beehives, honeycombs, flowers, or elements related to the beekeeping activity. Neither may they mention or emphasize the term honey or any particular property related to it or with the composition of any other of its ingredients, either through graphic representations and/or optional legends".
